Simoun and HiME/Otome are marketed in a similar way, with lots of seiyuu goodies. Their casts are both impressive and almost all female. Yuri packaging. Depending on how important these aspects are to the viewer, they are, or not. :)

Simoun vs. Nadesico: Yurika went to the Spring! Hey, they both have blue hair....

I really like dm's haiku comparison.

I think Simoun and Mai-Hime (not so much Otome) are very, very similar. But that's also for another day :)

> Bokura ga Ita vs. Simoun
> One makes me feel gay, the other doesn’t?

Stop watching it, save yourself while you still can! I am already too far gone.

Regarding Simoun vs. Nadesico - There's no waiting on the flight deck for the pilots to return in MSN. I still think there's more in common between Mai-Otome and Simoun, than between Simoun and Nadesico.

Thinking about this some more: Simoun is like a haiku. Very little is said explicitly, it's all implied. It often seemed to me that half the dialogue consisted of one character or another saying, "Eh?" in surprise: at an event, at something someone else said, at the expression on someone's face. Yet it seemed so expressive.
