Regarding Simoun vs. Nadesico – There’s no waiting on the flight deck for the pilots to return in MSN. I still think there’s more in common between Mai-Otome and Simoun, than between Simoun and Nadesico.

Very little is said explicitly, it’s all implied. It often seemed to me that half the dialogue consisted of one character or another saying, “Eh?” in surprise: at an event, at something someone else said, at the expression on someone’s face. Yet it seemed so expressive.
