In short, this anime season (and every season) you have a bunch of shows vying for your attention, each aiming to outdo others. This year it seems to be the case especially so. Even beyond the typical genre divides, shows like Gurran Lagann and Polyphonica for example, both very different genres and for markets but competing for the same kind of viewers. It&#039;s like the late-night otaku market is just not going to fit anymore, especially in the light of foreign licensing and what not.</description>
