Choucho – transient blue

Choucho did two shows on back-to-back days at the end of February for her Whitepetals live shows and I was fortunate enough to be able to catch her last show, where she performed a couple tracks off of her limited single, transient blue (stylized with lower caps). It comes with three original Choucho compositions with acoustic arrangements, plus the acoustic version of Authentic symphony.

It’s a Lantis single but produced with an indie budget. During MC, Choucho talked about transient blue being something she had a big hand in producing and it was recorded humbly. During the acoustic corner she performed a couple songs out of the single (full set list both days here) and luckily we got to hear Answer on day two. It’s a pretty neat treat for a couple wary English-speaking travelers who flew in to catch the show. I’m just going to transcribe the song here.

Answer
Compose: Choucho
Arrange: Maruyama Jun, Katayama Yoshimi
Lyrics: Choucho

If it’s raining suddenly,  you should take shelter
Coz the sun is just behind the clouds

If you’re lost, you can ask somebody
Coz there are so many ways to the goal

Sometimes my feelings are hurt
Things don’t go the way I want
But you will never find a rainbow if you’re looking down
You know, everyday is a new day

Keep your face to the sunshine
You can get a piece of happiness if you wish
Let’s step up little by little
Nothing is wasteful for our lives

If you are so sad, you may cry in a loud voice
You’ll feel better
If someone says “No”, you may say “Yes”
Coz there will be a lot of answers

Sometimes my feelings are hurt
Things don’t go the way I want
But you will never find a rainbow if you’re looking down
You know, everyday is a special day

What’s your most important thing?
Is it love, friendship, work, or your pride?
When you stare into more heart,
you can surely find a true answer

What’s your most important thing?
Is it love, friendship, work or your dream?
When you stare into more heart,
you can surely find a true answer

Keep your face to the sunshine
You can get a piece of happiness if you wish
Let’s step up little by little
There is always tomorrow

The lyrics needed a little help during the performance. I know, because I had a hard time following it even if she was singing it well enough to be understood. But I think she got the cool parts of the song across as well as the whole idea behind it. It’s very much the blend of musical influences that characterizes a giant portion of my personal listening in the past 15 years. The rest of the show? It was splendid, and what’s more the event was presented complete with some mood-setting video clips doing a full narrative from song to song. At one point an interpretive dancer came on stage and did a thing with her (Eternal Waltz?).

Anyways, you can try to purchase the single (or at least listen to the samples) on Mora.

PS. Proper calls to DreamRiser sure are fresh and crisp. It’s really satisfying to do. If something can be “hot and heavy” then this is “hot and light.”

PPS. At the concert they gave you a package of ads on your way out, with a questionnaire that I didn’t bother filling out. But what’s this? An ad for ORB’s headphone amp with fhana collab? I lulz’d.
