Omonomono Newsletter, February 6 Update

Long time no newsletter. I think I have 2 months worth of links in this one.

Omonomono Newsletter, 2022-02-06

I’ve been dreading writing these and the logical timing to dump these just hasn’t came around for various reasons. I think either a process improvement or dropping this all together are the only options left. Well, I’ll save my excuses for later. For now, links.

These Past Months

The COVID situation in Japan were basically almost stopped until Omicron reined in and now they’re experiencing the biggest spike the country has had. The high vaccination rate should mean at least their hospital systems can handle it. So you know, maybe this is happening.

Nonetheless, seeing all the seiyuu Omicron news reminded me the NFL season when Omicron was tearing through the league. Then there are also people like this that actually worries me. He’s not much younger than my dad lol.

Last bit on COVID, Comiket didn’t turn out to be a mass spreader event.

Personal Note

The long gap between newsletters come down to the following: I built a new PC with 128GB RAM, work has been unusually demanding during the fall and winter months, and I still couldn’t get enough time to make much ways in my gaming. I did take some time off to relax and go do various things, but it’s hard compiling my links on a laptop. Basically my old PC was weak enough that I had to dump all my Chrome tabs once in a while, but the new ones can handle them like…there’s no limit to it.

As for other things, I think I am doing well, but work is still quite demanding time-wise. I hope there is some end in sight. Maybe the winter months will melt into a mellower spring.

I am still watching anime. This season has a couple outstanding spots, like Akebi-chan and Bisque Doll. Topping my list is for sure Princess Connect S2 though. Slow Loop is the kind of show I watch and enjoy 4 out of 5 times. Ongoing fare like Dai no Daibouken and Ranking of Kings keep things steady. And I guess there’s Attack on Titan. Or continuation of Realist Hero?

As for last season, it was a bit more pedestrian with shows like Aquatrope and 86 coming to a close (Hi Snowden). Sakugan was interesting but went nowhere. Ansatsu Kizoku was a more acceptable way to look at the same themes in Shield Hero. Faraway Paladin made me think of THAC0… Tawawa on Monday and Doukichan are both fun. AMAIN was oddish. Garanndoll felt good. Banished from the Hero’s Party felt extra weird lol. And I guess Pride of Orange segues nicely into the Olympics where everyone knows it’s Canada vs USA again as usual. Oh, yeah, I did enjoy Selepro and that Annoying Senpai Anime. My top show had to be Irina though, as I was binging that Apple TV space anime at the same time.
